LET'S START THE YEAR ON A FEISTY NOTE SHALL WE?
well yes, even in my homelife, there's been a very feisty start to the year 2009.or from another angle,it was 2008 which ended on a feisty note.the line between frustration and exasperation was indeed violated countless times during the exchange with the semi-human.but lest i give it too disproportionate an emphasis here,i shall end on this elusive and slightly confusing note.
for me,the last few days of the year reflected how the entire year was like.i had the joys of my best friends' company and the pain of an imperfect human existence.sorry if it sounds somewhat detached and philosophical, but thats as far as i will go on this public domain!there r damn a lot of secret viewers on this space,i swear.and you,you reading it right now,are just one of them :P
NYE at bear's and waking up at 5:30pm when everyone else has left was...fun(ny).oh i really liked the christmas gift from kim and the canada gift from bear!and i really love both of them too :)
wrongly,i told bear that unlike other years,we do not start this year with a typical wish which cannot vary much from something like,"this is my [insert name of major examinations i.e. A levels/O levels/streaming] year,so i must work hard!".cause, quite simply, theres simply no pen-to-paper examinations this year which will define us in this delicate socialisation process called the education system.but ho ho ho i,for that moment, forgot about the greatest (yet) test in store for us kids fresh out of the uniformed education system >> scholarship and university admissions!ahhh i think i can do away with the cynism and pessimism man.like seriously!!so i shall strive to,like jiayuan,THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS.
YES MAN with the guys before calvin flew off was very amusing.and i thought quite meaningful.but jarren thinks otherwise, saying the only overarching message is to exercise common sense in life.anyway,i think its quite a good laugh so just go watch it!!
talking about movies,my illegal escapade with gab on christmas night was mirrored by that with ali and nicky at lido a few days back.WE SNEAKED INTO THE THEATRE!!theatres,to be accurate, since we caught glimpses of australia and Ip Man!the latter made me (and even ali,who is clearly and unmistakably of an indian stock) feel very proud as a CHINESE.WING CHUN FTW :)
so as the above chronicles must have shown,i did not spend new year's eve with dominic,as we idealistically setted out to do as 14 year olds counting down for the first time fashionably without our parents along the banks of esplanade.dinner didnt happen too in the end but its okay the sentiment remains strong :)
i spent the afternoon on new year's eve FINISHING UP my uni apps and AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL AND RELIEVED that im COMLETELY DONE with digging deep into my past and personality to try and retrieve elements of me which are worthy of the admission officer's consideration.now, all of us optimistic and hopeful applicants enter into the helpness zone of being patient and praying hard.
in case you havent realized,im not being very chronological today.but its the new year and the LAST YEAR WHEN I AM STILL A FIERCELY PROUD TEENAGER,so heck it!!in this spirit, let me tell you the subject tt i'll be teaching in tj during my moe internship >> english for the PRC kids.yeah doesnt sound enticing i know.but oh well, looks like events are shaping up such that im forced to try taking this whole relief teaching thing seriously...we'll see :D
and oh!i managed to pimp the lady counter at wisma's topman when i met daryl hiok and wenyu to shop a few days back.so WOOHOO i didnt lose my expired topman vouchers!and ended up buying a shirt somemore!very happy.sex talk at starbucks was very amusing, and highly stimulating for someone like wenyu,i believe.
in other news,it'll finally be exco gathering later on in the day of 2nd jan!!at yan's mansion, off kovan mrt!it'll be a slumber party too so woots :) this is the bunch of people without which my jc life will not even remotely resemble how it turned out eventually.FYI,it turned out really neat, thank u very much.so yeah im lookn forward to it!
and from 3rd to 4th i'll be off to camp koreff in msia for the instructors' training camp with azad and other april kids like shannon GE and jiaknene and dominic and mark and leeyane.okay i just named all of them in fact.haha so yeah it'll be exciting days ahead and i UHM take this opportunity to wish all my guy acquaintances ALL THE BEST FOR ARMY!!!if it is of mitigating use, know tt while you go into tekong camp,i,too, will be making my way into a campsite.though the purposes of our respective journeys are drastically different heh!
OKAY i bid you goodnight and hope that in the coming year,as with all those which have gone before us,we'll all grow a little happier,a little more contented and, above all,a little wiser.wise enough to appreciate the little things in life, and the people in it which makes it all worthwhile :)
happy 2009 all you undercover blog surfers!may a substantial portion of luck goes to the reform agenda of wall street, for it is plaguing not just the spendthrift american consumers but even the confuscian, conservative(or so the media and the govt would have us believe?)singaporeans here on the other side of the globe>>>> it'll be a tough year for the adults slogging in the economy...BUT THANKFULLY(SHOOT ME FOR SAYING THIS),AS A TEENAGER AND CIVIL SERVANT PARENTS,IM PRETTY MUCH IMMUNED FROM THE ROUGH PATCHES OF THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL FALLOUT.
HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL :)
